Game Changer: Andhra Govt Greenlights Higher Ticket Rates For Ram Charan, Shankar's Film
The Andhra Pradesh government has greenlit an increase in ticket prices for the eagerly awaited film Game Changer, starring Ram Charan, SJ Suryah, and Kiara Advani. This adjustment in pricing is specifically for the Sankranti festival period, running from January 11 to 23.
During these dates, multiplexes can raise ticket costs by Rs 175 over the standard rate, and single-screen cinemas can up their prices by Rs 135. Additionally, cinemas have the authorization to run five shows a day, providing fans ample opportunity to catch the film.

For the film's launch on January 10, the government has made an exception by allowing a benefit show at 1:00 AM, where tickets will be priced at Rs 600. That day will also see an increase in the number of shows to six, starting from as early as 4:00 AM, with ticket prices incorporating the festival increment. This special arrangement underscores the anticipation and buzz surrounding the release of Game Changer.
The revised ticket pricing means that for the first 14 days of its release, Game Changer tickets will be priced at Rs 352 in multiplexes and Rs 282.50 in single screens, inclusive of GST. From day 15, ticket prices will revert to their regular rates of Rs 177 for multiplexes and Rs 147 for single screens. This tiered pricing strategy reflects the special status of the film during the festive period and its potential to draw large audiences.
At an event in Hyderabad, the trailer for Game Changer was unveiled by renowned filmmaker SS Rajamouli. This marks director Shankar's first venture into Telugu cinema with lead roles played by Ram Charan and Kiara Advani. The trailer showcases a mix of action, emotion, and drama, topped with Ram Charan's unique charm. It hints at an engaging cinematic experience for viewers, with promises of a film that packs a punch in terms of entertainment value.
In Game Changer, Ram Charan portrays a dual role of a father and son, adding depth to the storyline. The trailer kicks off with Charan's character, an IAS officer, urging the public to avoid hoarding. His diverse appearances in the trailer have piqued the interest of fans, particularly as he confronts a corrupt Chief Minister intent on disrupting his life. This narrative setup suggests a gripping tale of righteousness against corruption.
With the strategic ticket price hikes and additional showtimes, Game Changer is poised to make a significant impact at the box office in Andhra Pradesh. Nonetheless, its long-term success will largely depend on the audience's response and the buzz it manages to generate through word-of-mouth. The film's performance in its initial days post-release will be crucial in determining its overall success in the state.
