Former Actress Sana Khan Says 'Devil' Made Her Shift From Full Sleeves To Backless Outfits
Former actor Sana Khan, who left the entertainment industry to pursue a spiritual path, opened up about the "mistakes" she made in her life during an appearance on Rubina Dilaik's podcast, 'Kisi Ne Bataya Nahi'.
Reflecting on her past, the 36-year-old shared how she was influenced by "shaitaan" (the devil) to prioritise "modernism" over simplicity.

Sana revealed that despite her growing fame after participating in 'Bigg Boss', she struggled to find true happiness. Seeking guidance, she decided to buy a Quran translated into English to find direction in her life.
She explained, "After I came out of 'Bigg Boss', I thought, I need to get a Quran which was translated. Us waqt meri life mein bahot saari aisi cheezein bhi ho rahi thi which are now not worth talking about, but apart from that, meri life mein bahot major change tha [I was going through a tough time in my life at that time. It's not worth talking about now. However, buying the Quran brought a major change in my life]."
Speaking about her lifestyle choices, Sana reflected on her evolving wardrobe over time. She shared how she started with modest outfits but gradually moved towards more revealing clothing.
"Pehle main full sleeves pehenti thi, then three-fourth hua and then half sleeves hua. I would be like, baap re mere hath dikh rahe hai. And then I reached sleeveless. Phir neeche se kum hote gaye. And then in my journey from sleeveless to backless, mujhe pata hi nahi chala ki 'shaitaan' ne mujhe as a woman nanga kab kar diya aur main is nangepan ko modernism aur liberal hona, is chiz ko power kab se samajne lag gayi [I would initially wear full sleeves, then I started wearing three-fourth sleeves, then half-sleeves and eventually, I began to wear sleeveless dresses. The same happened to the length of my dresses. During my journey from sleeveless to backless, I never realised how the 'devil' stripped me of my dignity, and I thought I was being modern and liberal. I don't know when I started thinking of it as power]."
She also discussed how she felt lost while making these choices.
Sana recounted her transformation from a "homely girl" who used to wear traditional outfits to college, into someone who embraced shortcuts in life.
"Mujhe samajh nahi aa raha tha ki main ek gharelu ladki, salwar kameez pehenke, tel laga kar college jane wali, when did I reach this shortcut and backless stage, I couldn't understand [I couldn't understand how a homely girl like me, who would wear a suit to college with oil in her hair, reached a shortcut and started wearing backless dresses on stage]."
After leaving the film and TV industry, Sana married a Muslim scholar and businessman, Anas Saiyad, in November 2020. The couple welcomed their son, Saiyad Tariq Jamil, in 2023. Together, the couple run several businesses and also work to promote the teachings of Islam.
