False Narrative: Yuva Rajkumar's Wife Sridevi On Divorce & Extra Marital Affair Allegations

Sridevi Byrappa has responded to the allegations mounted by estranged husband Yuva Rajkumar's advocate saying that she is "deeply disappointed" over the allegations against her.

Criticising Yuva, Sridevi, in a social media post, wrote, "It is very unfortunate and hurtful to see a person who is supposed to maintain professional decorum is yielding into character assassinating a woman in public with no truth into it. I am deeply disappointed with how this has been handled especially given the false narrative."

Sridevi stated that she reamined silent to maintain dignity. She continued, "I completely remained silent and maintained my dignity inspite of all that I went through the last few months. But they did this. I continue to trust that truth and justice will prevail.

Yuva Rajkumar, actor and grandson of the late Sandalwood matinee idol Dr. Rajkumar, has reportedly filed for divorce from Sridevi Byrappa on the grounds of cruelty under Section 13(1)(a) of the Hindu Marriage Act.

Her statement comes after Yuva's advocate made allegations of having afair with other men.

Yuva, whose original name is Guru, and Sridevi were friends for over seven years before their marriage. Initially, their relationship faced opposition from his family but was approved thanks to the intervention of the late Puneeth Rajkumar.

The next hearing of their divorce petition is scheduled for July 4.

Yuva Rajkumar is the son of senior actor Raghavendra Rajkumar. His brother Vinay is also an actor in Sandalwood.

Yuva had first made his debut as a child artiste in Upendra's blockbuster 'Om' starring his uncle Shivaraj Kumar.

On the other hand, Paduvarahalli Byrappa, the father-in-law of Kannada actor Yuva Rajkumar, expressed his hope that the marriage can be salvaged and urged for a resolution to the dispute to keep the couple together.

He disclosed that his daughter is pursuing an MBA in the US, a move initiated by her husband's family for her higher education.

Byrappa clarified that Sridevi's marriage was arranged under pressure from the Raghavendra Rajkumar family, and initially, he was not enthusiastic about the alliance. Despite this, he highlighted that their relationship was initially harmonious, with issues arising only after Sridevi relocated to the US.

According to Byrappa, Yuva last visited their home in December, mere weeks before filing for divorce. He anticipates Sridevi's return to India soon to address the divorce notice.
