ED Questions Tamannaah Bhatia In Guwahati Over Mahadev Betting App Case: Reports
Tamannaah Bhatia was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Guwahati on Thursday, drawing attention due to her alleged involvement in promoting illegal IPL streaming.
The focus is on her links to a subsidiary app of the contentious Mahadev online gaming and betting platform. This summons marks a new development in the ongoing investigation.

Tamannaah arrived at the ED office in Guwahati around 1:30 PM, accompanied by her mother. As of now, she is still being questioned.
The actress was called in for questioning over accusations of promoting IPL match viewing on the Fairplay betting app, which is connected to the larger Mahadev online betting case.
FairPlay operates as a betting exchange platform that offers a range of gambling options on sports and entertainment. It functions as a subsidiary of the Mahadev online gaming app, which provides illegal betting platforms for live games such as Cricket, Poker, Badminton, Tennis, Football, card games, and other games of chance.
The Mahadev betting app first attracted attention last year when actors Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, who appeared in its advertisements, were summoned by the ED for questioning. The ongoing probe has put several Bollywood celebrities under scrutiny, as part of a broader crackdown on various illegal betting and gaming apps by multiple agencies.
Previously, Sahil Khan was arrested by the Mumbai cyber cell's Special Investigating Team (SIT) in Chhattisgarh on April 28, 2024, after the Bombay High Court rejected his plea for pre-arrest bail. Khan maintained that he was only a brand promoter, contracted with M/s. Isports247 to promote The Lion Book brand, and denied any direct involvement with the betting platform.
In October 2023, Shraddha Kapoor was summoned by the ED in relation to the Mahadev betting app case. Ranbir Kapoor was also called in the same month, while Kapil Sharma was questioned for attending an event organised by Saurabh Chandrakar, the app's founder. Additionally, Huma Qureshi and Hina Khan were also summoned for promoting the app, with agencies looking to clarify their involvement and the fees they received, which the ED claimed were proceeds of crime.
