'Dunki' Vs 'Salaar' At Box Office: Which Will Get The Biggest Opening?
The stage is set for the biggest battle at the box office in 2023 as Shah Rukh Khan's 'Dunki' and Prabhas' 'Salaar' are clashing at the box office, this Christmas season.
The King Khan's film is releasing on Thursday while 'Salaar' will be out on Friday. Although SRK's film is releasing a day before Prabhas' flick, there is a clash between the movie to get more number of screens which help the movies to do more business.

The 'Dunki' team has demanded the theatre owners to give all four shows or not give it at all, Indian Express reported citing sources from the industry. "The clause says, either give us all four shows, or don't give any. And if you don't give us, then we will also see what to do in future with other films."
Pen Marudhar is distributing 'Dunki' while Salaar is being released by Anil Thadani's AA Films in North India. However, the distributors of 'Salaar' are okay to share shows with Shah Rukh's movie. The source said, "They are ok with two shows each out of four. The offer is, one prime time show (6.30 PM and 9.30 PM) will go to Salaar, one to Dunki, the rest two (12.30 PM and 3.30 PM) can be decided by the exhibitors. So as of now, single screens have opened booking only for Thursday, because exhibitors are yet to decide how to play around this scenario."
Industry insiders say that 'Salaar' get more screens in the South while 'Dunki' will be the first choice of theatres in North India.
'Dunki' is releasing only in Hindi whereas 'Salaar' is seeing the light of the day in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam languages.
Rajkumar Hirani's directorial has sold 251,146 tickets for 9,658 shows nationwide, while Prashanth Neel's film has sold 246,772 tickets for 4,338 shows across India. This includes earnings of Rs 1.11 crore from 35,946 tickets for Hindi shows and Rs 3.5 crore from 129,010 tickets for Telugu shows, according to a report in Outlook.
'Salaar' Vs'Dunki': 1st Day Collection Predictions
As per trade tracker Ramesh Bala, Shah Rukh Khan's movie is predicted to do around Rs 40 crore. He said, " Hindi movies are generally reported in Net or NBOC (net box office collection. On Day 1, 'Dunki' will open about Rs 40 crore in India, which is a good number for a social drama. Worldwide, it will probably open with Rs 75-80 crore on the opening day."
He added, "On the other hand, 'Salaar' on Friday is expected to open better because it's an action film. It will do well in the Hindi belt because of 'Baahubali' and 'KGF' connect. Also, the Telugu states are a huge market for this kind of film, so it will open anywhere around Rs 120 crore gross in India. If we include overseas, it will be more than Rs150 crore gross on day one."
