Did Ranveer Allahbadia (Beer Biceps) Steal That Controversial Joke? Netizens Dig Up the Truth!

Comedian Samay Raina is once again at the center of controversy, this time for his new YouTube show, India's Got Latent. The most recent uproar was sparked after a highly inappropriate remark made by YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia on the show, drawing widespread criticism and prompting formal complaints against the show's makers, judges, and participants.

During an interaction with a contestant, Ranveer aka BeerBiceps, posed a distressing question: "Would you rather watch your parents have sex for the rest of your life or join in once to make it stop?" The question was met with shock and outrage on social media after a clip of the exchange went viral.

On Monday, Ranveer issued a public apology for his remark, stating it was "inappropriate and unfunny." He also expressed that "comedy is not my forte. I'm sorry." This apology came after Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis publicly addressed the controversy. Though he hadn't watched the clip himself, he cautioned against the misuse of free speech.

However, this controversy took an unexpected turn when it was revealed that Ranveer had not originally conceived the idea for the joke. The remark was actually taken from a recent YouTube video by comedians Sammy Walsh and Alan Fang on their channel OG Crew. In a Truth or Drink segment, the joke had been featured just two weeks ago and has garnered over three million views.

As criticism continued to mount, the situation escalated further on Monday when a member of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) wrote to YouTube. The NHRC expressed that they "have taken cognisance" of the issue and urged the platform to take "urgent action" by removing the relevant episode of India's Got Latent.
