Dheeraj Kumar Death News: Renowned actor, director, and producer Dheeraj Kumar has passed away in Mumbai at the age of 79. His health had deteriorated after he suffered from acute respiratory distress. He was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Andheri on Monday, where he was diagnosed with acute pneumonia and placed in the intensive care unit (ICU).
Earlier on Monday, Dheeraj Kumar's family and production team released a statement confirming his hospitalisation. They mentioned that medical professionals were closely monitoring him and providing all necessary treatment. "The family requests prayers for his speedy recovery and urges everyone to respect their privacy during this difficult time," the statement read.

Dheeraj Kumar's Career and Contributions
Dheeraj Kumar's career spanned over five decades, leaving a significant mark on Indian television and film. He began his journey in the 1960s, acting in numerous films like Raaton Ka Raja, Swami, and Heera Panna. Between 1970 and 1984, he appeared in 21 films, also making a notable impact on Punjabi cinema.
In later years, Dheeraj transitioned to television production by founding Creative Eye Limited. This company became known for producing several acclaimed religious and mythological shows, including Om Namah Shivay.
Recent Public Appearance
A few days before his hospitalisation, Dheeraj Kumar attended the opening of the ISKCON temple in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai. At this event, he expressed his spiritual beliefs and praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for promoting Sanatan Dharma. "I came here with a sense of humility. While they called me the VVIP, I believe the true VVIP is God," he remarked.
