Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra has passed away at the age of 89 Known for his charm and good looks, Dharmendra was a favourite among fans, especially women who would travel from distant places just to catch a glimpse of him. Dharmendra spent over six decades in the film industry, taking on roles in various genres like action, comedy, and romance. He remained active in the industry until his last days, often appearing at events. Not only were ordinary fans captivated by him, but prominent actresses like Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, and Sharmila Tagore also considered him the most handsome hero in Bollywood.

Shabana Azmi's husband Javed Akhtar, the celebrated lyricist and scriptwriter, once expressed his admiration by saying, "I have not seen 'Greek God'. I do not regret it. Because I have seen Dharmendra. A person who used to look, would keep looking... when we saw [Dharmendra] for the first time, our condition was the same".

The actor shared the screen with Shabana Azmi in the film "Rocky Aur Rani." Their on-screen kiss garnered significant attention. Dharmendra's funeral took place at Vile Parle crematorium in Mumbai, attended by family and close industry friends. Many stars, including Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, and Akshay Kumar, were present to pay their last respects. His wife Hema Malini and daughter Esha Deol were also there. Salman Khan was visibly emotional at the crematorium.
