Dhanush Was Rude To Hotel Staff: Mumbai Journalist Recalls Tamil Actor's 'Weird Tantrum'
A Mumbai-based journalist has made allegations of "rude" behaviour by Tamil actor Dhanush when he interviewed him during the promotions of Velai Illa Pattadhari 2 (VIP 2).
Dhanush Didn't Answer Properly
Journalist Nayan Deep opened up about how he found Dhanush's behaviour during the Hindi promotions of the film to be "rude". He recalled that the interview, which was meant to focus on the film, lasted barely three minutes, with the Kolaveri Di hitmaker allegedly refusing to properly respond to any of the 10 questions asked.

He claimed that the actor brushed off a question about working with Kajol by saying, "You should ask her this," and also reacted harshly to a staff member who offered him juice during the interaction.
"I don't know if he was upset because of something that happened earlier, but the way he spoke to the person who came to serve juice didn't sit right with me," Nayan Deep shared. He added that no matter how big a star one is, the true measure of character is in how one treats people who might be in less privileged positions.
'Superstar Quality Is About... Treating People'
"You can you can feel superstar...you are. but your superstar quality is about how you treat people who may be socially below you. Me that juice person. the PR, your manager..."
The journalist further mentioned that though there was a brewing controversy at that time linked to the Suchi leaks, he refrained from probing into it deeply and instead asked how such incidents affect an actor's family. To this, Dhanush reportedly gave a thoughtful response. "He answered the question really well," the journalist states.
However, after the interview ended, Nayan Deep claimed that the actor made a sarcastic remark to the PR team about the interview.
"I asked him if I had done anything wrong, because I had in fact asked him multiple questions related to the movie," Nayan Deep said, calling the actor's behaviour a "weird tantrum."
Backlash from Dhanush Fans
Dhanush's fans have not taken kindly to the journalist's comments, especially since the incident took place nearly eight years ago-VIP 2 was released in 2017-and is only being spoken about now. Supporters of the actor accused Nayan Deep of using the story to tarnish Dhanush's image.
One social media user claimed to have been present at the event and contradicted Nayan Deep's version, saying, "This happened at Trident Hotel in BKC. It was Kajol who was rude to the server, not Dhanush, who was actually chatting with Irshad Saab at the time."
Another fan echoed the same claim, urging Nayan Deep to stick to the truth, saying, "Being honest will take you further than twisting stories."
Many others came to Dhanush's defense, pointing out the various personal and professional struggles the actor has faced over the years, including the Suchileaks scandal, alleged betrayals in the industry, and false paternity cases. They highlighted how numerous co-stars and media personalities have vouched for Dhanush's humility and kindness in the past.
Some also accused the journalist of trying to gain attention by digging up an old episode. "Looks like he just wants to be in the limelight by creating unnecessary drama," one user wrote, while another added, "Dhanush put him in his place-well done."
The controversy has sparked mixed reactions, with fans rallying around Dhanush while some continue to discuss the journalist's account.
