Devil's Double Next Level Movie Review: What's Good, What's Bad In Santhanam's Film?

Santhanam's new movie Devil's Double Next Level has hit the screens on Friday. It is a comedy horror film, directed by S Prem Anand.

Geethika Tiwary is the female lead in the movie which has Selvaraghavan, Gautham Menon, Nizhalgal Ravi, Kasthuri Shankar, Redin Kingsley and others in the cast. The film has OfRo's music, Deepak Kumar Padhy's cinematography and Bharath Vikraman's editing.

The movie has garnered a lot of buzz with its trailer and promos. Will the movie live up to the expectations? Find out in viewers' words below:

Siddharth Srinivas: #DevilsDoubleNextLevel - A hot and cold horror comedy that has few funny stretches. The plot about a film reviewer going into the movie is crazy and all the portions involving this concept work well. However, the comedy and the horror elements in the film are lesser compared to the previous parts.

Santhanam has done well but the rest of the cast in GVM, Kingsley and Maaran don't have much to do. His combo with Mottai Rajendran is good though.

I loved DD Returns for its crazy haunted house concept and the characters but here, the magic seems to be missing the mojo. Director Prem Anand has also resorted to dirty comedies in this film, which is not so welcome.

A film that might please fans of the franchise, more so if they have their expectations in check!

Haricharan Pudipeddi: #DevilsDoubleNextLevel - A fun horror comedy with a lot of meta references. The film spoofs itself in a lot of places and expects not to be taken seriously. Every time it gets silly, the film actually mocks at his own silliness. Manages to deliver the laughs in quite a few places but isn't wholesomely as entertaining as the last part. The silliness aside, the film definitely lacked regular comic reliefs to keep the momentum going.

First half - DECENT & PASSABLE

- First 30 mins was entertaining & rightly setup the phase for the film👌
- Santhanam & Rajendran comedy works partially at some places
- GVM character was filled with fun moments especially 'Uyirin Uyire' song😄
- Unlike other previous parts, many fun moments are missing

Rajasekar: #DevilsDoubleNextLevel - A horror spoof film that relies more on the various layers in screenplay . The film is all about how a YouTube critic goes into a film, subjected to various genres to save his family. Even the end card , lead to sequel comes under this screenplay trick.

On the downside, the most anticipated Maaran comedy was just okay so are the contribution from other comedy actors.

Unlike the previous part, the comedy and fun elements are limited here. The film's director Prem Anand (director of DD Returns as well) seems to lure the audiences more by his screenplay brilliance within the comedy template.

Good to see@itisprashanth in a small cameo that comes as the starting point of the film 👍

Overall, DD Next Level has passable comedy moments to laugh in theaters and that's about it!
