Box Office Chronicle: Rosshan Andrrews' 'DEVA' is a film that aims high but delivers a damp squib. Billed as an intense action thriller, it neither offers adrenaline-pumping moments nor the mass appeal needed to leave an impact. The film lacks the firepower required to compete with today's action spectacles.

#ShahidKapoor feels woefully miscast in this rugged cop role. Unlike #RanbirKapoor in 'ANIMAL' or #AlluArjun in 'PUSHPA', who transformed into larger-than-life mass heroes, Shahid never fully convinces as the rebellious, no-nonsense police officer. His screen presence lacks the weight needed to carry an action-heavy film, and his body language feels awkward in high-octane sequences.

The story follows a tired template: an honest cop taking on a corrupt system. But there's nothing fresh about it. Every plot twist is predictable, every character fits into a standard trope, and there's not a single moment of surprise.

If you're expecting racy punchlines or action sequences that give you goosebumps, you're in for disappointment. 'DEVA' lacks the verbal fireworks that make action films memorable. There are no hard-hitting dialogues to send the masses into a frenzy, no explosive elevation scenes that make you want to jump out of your seat.

#PoojaHegde is wasted in a role that offers her little to do. Pavail Gulati, Pravesh Rana, Girish Kulkarni, and Kubbra Sait exist merely to fill the screen but leave no lasting impression. Even the music by Jakes Bejoy and Vishal Mishra is utterly mediocre. The background score lacks the punch to elevate the action sequences.

Overall, 'DEVA' lacks soul, style, and substance. With a routine story, unconvincing hero, and zero mass appeal, it fails to engage or entertain. If #ANIMAL and #PUSHPA are roaring beasts, 'DEVA' is an infant struggling to find its footing.
