Deepika Padukone Becomes First Indian Actress To Receive Star On Hollywood Walk of Fame
Deepika Padukone is set to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2026. This honour, in the Motion Pictures category, highlights India's growing influence globally. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce recognises Padukone's outstanding performances and contributions to entertainment, solidifying her as a global icon who consistently brings pride to India.
The announcement was made via live stream, marking a historic moment as Padukone becomes the first Indian to receive this prestigious accolade. She joins an esteemed group of honorees including Emily Blunt, Timothée Chalamet, Rami Malek, Rachel McAdams, Stanley Tucci, and Demi Moore.

India's Global Representation
Padukone has successfully bridged the Indian entertainment industry with Hollywood. Her inclusion as the only Indian recipient in this class underscores India's expanding presence internationally. While many international figures have been inducted into the Hall of Fame, her recognition is particularly significant for India.
Her career is filled with achievements that have brought global recognition to India. In 2018, TIME magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people worldwide. She later received the TIME100 Impact Award and made history by unveiling the FIFA World Cup trophy during the final match in Qatar.
Fashion and Film Achievements
Further enhancing her global stature, Padukone became the first Indian signed by luxury fashion houses Louis Vuitton and Cartier. Her role as a Cannes jury member is another notable achievement that adds to her impressive list of accomplishments.
On the professional front, Padukone recently appeared in Nag Ashwin's "Kalki 2898 AD" and Rohit Shetty's "Singham Again." She is set to star in Atlee's upcoming film "AA22xA6," following their previous collaboration on "Jawan." A sequel to "Kalki 2898 AD" is also among her future projects.
Personal Milestones
In her personal life, Padukone and Ranveer Singh welcomed their daughter, Dua Padukone Singh, in September 2024. Currently on maternity leave from work, she continues to enjoy this new phase of life while maintaining her status as a global star.
This recognition on the Hollywood Walk of Fame not only celebrates Padukone's individual achievements but also signifies India's growing impact on the world stage. Her journey reflects a blend of talent and dedication that continues to inspire many across the globe.
