Darshan's 'Kaatera' Runs Into Trouble Over A Dialogue
Darshan's upcoming Kannada film 'Kaatera' has run into trouble over a dialogue mouthed by Jagapathi Babu in the movie.
A wildlife Conservation Society has raised objection to the dialogue where Babu says, "These people are like snakes. Catch them if they have no venom. Smash them if they have venom."

The dialogue landed in a controversy following the release of the film's trailer.Wildlife activist Prasanna Kumar expressed concern, noting that the dialogue could be interpreted as advocating the killing of snakes. He emphasized the potential adverse impact on viewers, as it may inadvertently encourage harm to these creatures.
In 2021, a law was enacted to safeguard endangered poisonous species. Kumar stressed the importance of protecting these creatures rather than endorsing their killing or provocation. He has also demanded for the removal of the scene from the Kannada flick.
However, the makers have not responded to the controversy.
'Kaatera' is an action-packed film which marks the debut of Aradhana Ram, daughter of yesteryear actress Malashri and late producer Ramu. Kumar Govind, Shruti and others are part of the supporting cast.
Tharun Sudhir-directorial film is funded by Rockline Venkatesh. It is set in the 70s when the country was ruled by Indira Gandhi.
The trailer of the film was launched by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in a grand event held in Hubballi.
