Darshan's Health In Jail: 10 Kilos Lost, Seeks Home-Cooked Food After Vomiting, Diarrhea

Kannada superstar Darshan, who lived a luxurious life before his arrest in the Renuka Swamy murder case, is having difficulties in having food prepared in jail and having health issues.

According to a report from TV9 Kannada, Darshan, currently an undertrial prisoner at Parappa's Agrahara Jail, had his request for home-cooked food denied. It's been stated that the actor suffered vomiting episodes after consuming the meals provided by the jail.

In response to these health issues, Darshan's lawyer has filed an application in court seeking permission for him to receive food, and books from home. The actor has also filed a writ petition in the High Court, requesting an urgent hearing on this matter. Advocate Praveen Thimmaiah will represent Darshan in court, alongside his lawyer CV Nagesh.

The High Court is expected to hear Darshan's application on Thursday. However, the jail authorities have thus far denied permission for him to receive clothes, cutlery, home-cooked food, bed or books from home.

Darshan was arrested on June 11 in connection with the murder of Renuka Swamy and subsequently sent to judicial custody on June 22. On July 4, a Bengaluru court extended his judicial custody, along with that of his friend Pavithra Gowda and others, until July 18.

The case revolves around allegations that Renuka Swamy sent inappropriate messages to Darshan's friend Pavithra Gowda. In retaliation, Darshan's associates allegedly kidnapped Renuka Swamy from Chitradurga and confined him in a shed in Kamakshi Palya, where he was fatally assaulted. A total of 17 people have been arrested in connection with the case.
