Darshan Fans Have Not Spared Sudeep, Yash's Wives: Ramya Slams D Boss Fans For Abuses & Vulgar Messages
Actress and former MP Ramya has strongly condemned a section of Darshan's fans for sending her vulgar, abusive messages, death and rape threats after she publicly shared her thoughts on the Supreme Court's remarks in the Renuka Swamy murder case, in which Darshan is the primary accused along with his associate Pavithra Gowda.
Ramya Slams D Boss Fans
Speaking to News First Kannada, Ramya revealed that the backlash hasn't been limited to her alone. According to her, even fellow actors Sudeep and Yash, along with their wives, have been subjected to similar abuse from Darshan's fan base.

"Not just me, they've hurled abuses at Sudeep, Yash, and even their wives. The moment I commented on the SC's observation in the Renuka Swamy case, they started flooding me with vulgar messages," Ramya stated.
She questioned the hypocrisy of those claiming to demand justice in other cases like Soujanya's murder while threatening anyone who speaks out in the current case. "What's the difference between Renuka Swamy and these so-called fans? The irony is disturbing. Such behaviour only fuels the rise in rape and sexual assault cases," she said, adding that while many have privately expressed support for her, she would continue to speak up even if she stands alone.
'I'm Not Scared of Anyone'
Ramya also pointed out that many in the film industry remain silent due to fear of backlash from Darshan's fanbase. "We celebrities might still find the courage to speak up, but what about ordinary citizens? In this environment, the wrongdoers are fearless, and those who speak the truth are forced into silence," she said.
She slammed the mindset behind the abuse, questioning if the perpetrators have any respect for the women in their own lives. "Darshan's wife Vijayalakshmi is my friend, and I've shared a professional rapport with him too. But that doesn't mean I'll stay silent when something this serious happens."

Recalling a past incident, Ramya said she had filed a case earlier, resulting in one arrest, but chose to drop it considering the accused's future. "Many actors and actresses have reached out, thanking me for speaking up. They may fear fan backlash-but I am not afraid," she declared.
Meanwhile, the Karnataka State Women's Commission, in a letter sent on Monday, urged the Bengaluru Police Commissioner to take action against the surge of online abuse directed at women, including former MP and actor Ramya, following "derogatory posts" on social media, allegedly made by fans of Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa. "There is a report about derogatory messages being posted on social media against former MP and film actress Ramya. This is affecting the status of women, and the State Women's Commission has taken this matter seriously," the letter said.
Renuka Swamy Murder Case
The Renuka Swamy case has rocked the Kannada film industry. The victim, a resident of Chitradurga, was allegedly kidnapped and murdered in a shed in Bengaluru in June 2024 for sending obscene messages to Pavithra Gowda. Darshan, along with 17 others, was arrested in connection with the brutal killing but has since been released on bail after spending several weeks in custody.
