Criminal Justice 4: Who Is Roshini's Killer? Internet Speculates As Mishraji Prepares For Closing Argument

Pankaj Tripathi is back as the ever-watchful Madhav Mishra in Criminal Justice: A Family Matter, the fourth season of the popular crime drama. The series, which premiered on May 29 on JioHotstar, has kept audiences hooked with a weekly release format-and now, the highly-anticipated eighth and final episode is just around the corner.

Finale Release Date & What to Expect

The courtroom drama has followed Madhav Mishra as he attempts to untangle a complex murder involving the wealthy and mysterious Nagpal family. With each episode peeling back a new layer, the suspense has only intensified-and now, the final episode promises to answer the biggest question: who killed Roshni Saluja?

Criminal Justice 4 Finale Who Is Roshini s Killer Internet Speculates As Madhav Mishra Prepares For Closing Statement

Season 4 centers on the murder of Roshni (Asha Negi), a nurse entangled in a troubled relationship with Dr. Raj Nagpal (Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub), a reputed surgeon now standing trial. Represented by Mishra, Raj maintains his innocence, but the web of suspects includes his estranged wife Anju (Surveen Chawla), his teenage daughter Ira (who has Asperger's), and even his domineering mother, Gurmeet.

The show has emerged as one of the most-watched titles in June, clocking 5.7 million views in the week of June 16-22 alone and a staggering 29.7 million for the entire month, according to Ormax data.

Clues Hidden in Plain Sight?

As viewers await the finale, many are re-examining past episodes for hidden clues. One scene in Episode 2 has sparked particular curiosity. In what initially appears to be a simple domestic moment, Anju serves tea to Madhav Mishra and takes him to Ira's room with milk and medicine. Ira, who is lactose intolerant, drinks the milk and soon suffers a severe allergic reaction-leading to speculation that something more sinister is at play.

Why did Anju give Ira milk despite knowing her condition? Was it deliberate? Was she trying to draw Madhav's attention to something? Or was it a diversion to shield Ira-or perhaps even Raj-from suspicion?

Then there are Ira's eerie drawings-depictions of Roshni covered in red, or their grandmother with her mouth gagged. These illustrations, far from innocent child's play, could hold deeper meaning. Some fans speculate that Ira, during a hypoglycemic episode, may have lashed out unintentionally at Roshni. Could the fall have been an accident? And did Anju clean up the scene to protect her daughter?

The Reddit Theory Everyone Is Talking About

While Mishra is yet to deliver his closing arguments in court, Reddit has already gone full detective mode. A theory gaining traction among fans singles out Anju as the prime suspect. After Episode 7 aired on June 26, many users began revisiting earlier scenes with a keener eye.

One Redditor pointed out a sequence from Episode 1, around 27:15, that could be crucial:

Criminal Justice - my guess on who’s the killer (potential spoiler)
byu/UnderstandingOk5089 inIndianOTTbestof

"I think I found a huge clue that might reveal who the real killer is (big spoiler if this is true so proceed w caution) EPISODE 1, around 27:15 - When Anju enters and finds Raj with Roshni's body, look at the kitchen table: there's a milk carton, a glass, and a dropper bottle on it. These exact items show up later in Anju's trash! Then at 29:25, when the police arrive, the entire table is cleared, even Roshni's purse is moved. This means Anju changed the scene after calling the cops!! Also, Anju's hair is wet when she enters the flat, meaning she probably just showered - possibly to wash off blood from the killing or a struggle. And I doubt her flat was checked for blood traces. So here's my theory: Anju killed Roshni. Raj is guilty by association."

It's a compelling theory that has sparked heated discussions online. Did Anju manipulate the crime scene? Was she protecting her daughter, or trying to frame Raj?
Final Thoughts

With so many variables and a case built on subtle cues, Criminal Justice 4 seems poised to deliver a finale that's less about a clean-cut crime and more about the murky ethics of family loyalty and emotional trauma. Whether it ends with Madhav Mishra's trademark courtroom twist or a completely unexpected reveal, one thing's certain-fans will be watching closely.
