"Costumes Are So Important”: Naked John Cena Says At Oscar Awards 2024

WWE Wrestler turned actor John Cena on Monday made the headlines after he came naked on stage to present the Oscar Award 2024 for Best Costume Design. Everyone was stunned by John Cena's naked appearance when he was called on stage by host Jimmy Kimmel. Before calling Cena's name, Kimmel set it up by sharing an anecdote about the 1974 Oscars, when a streaker ran across the stage and had disrupted the event.

However, Cena decided not to proceed with the segment at the last minute, and informed the host Jimmy Kimmel that he didn't want to "do the streaker bit".

"It's an elegant event. Honestly, you should feel ashamed right now for suggesting such a tasteless idea. The male body is not a joke!" Cena said to Kimmel. The host then responded that the WWE star anyway wrestles nude, to which, Cena added: "Dude, I don't wrestle naked, I wrestle in jorts!"

"They are worse than being naked," Kimmel replied to Cena.

Cena walked sideways on the stage with an oversized envelope placed over his midbody. He was hesitating while doing the act and got a couple of hiccups.

"Costumes, they are so important," Cena said. "Maybe the most important thing there is," Cena said on stage as he couldn't open the envelope.

However, assistants swiftly rescued Cena with an elaborate gown as the lights dimmed. After this, Cena announced Holly Waddington's name for the film 'Poor Things' as the winner of the Oscar Award 2024 for Best Costume Design category. Jacqueline Durran for Barbie, Jacqueline West for Killers of the Flower Moon, Janty Yates and Dave Crossman for Napoleon, and Ellen Mirojnick for Oppenheimer were other nominees in the same category.
