BookMyShow, the sole authorized ticket vendor for the highly anticipated Coldplay India Tour, has officially lodged complaints against unauthorized online ticket resellers, following widespread concerns about ticket scalping and black market sales.

The company announced that it may cancel any tickets sold through unethical means, emphasizing its commitment to combatting ticket reselling practices.

A representative from BookMyShow stated, "We have filed a formal FIR (First Information Report) on October 2, 2024, as part of our ongoing campaign against ticket scalping for Coldplay's Music of the Spheres World Tour 2025 in India." They reiterated that ticket reselling is illegal in India and that the company is not affiliated with any unauthorized ticket marketplaces or organizations.

The announcement has stirred mixed reactions online. One user cautioned, "A big platform that sold tickets for a big, famous Thanda band is about to cancel resold tickets. If you bought tickets from someone, take your money back today; otherwise, it will create huge chaos, and no one will pay you back. Lots of FIRs coming up."

Another comment on social media argued, "They can't do it. Nowhere did they mention that tickets are non-transferable. Only selling tickets at a premium is illegal in India, which is outside of BookMyShow's prerogative."

Relax! Concert Is On As Planned So Far

Despite the controversy surrounding ticket sales, the Coldplay concert is confirmed to proceed as scheduled. The British pop group will perform in Mumbai on January 18, 19, and 21, 2025, marking their eighth visit to India. Ticket prices for the concert initially ranged from ₹2,500 to ₹35,000. However, secondary markets, like Viagogo, have seen tickets being resold for prices skyrocketing to ₹3 lakh and beyond.

As the concert date approaches, excitement builds among fans, but concerns about ticket legitimacy remain at the forefront of discussions. With BookMyShow's stringent measures against reselling, attendees are urged to ensure their tickets are purchased through authorized channels to avoid potential disruptions.
