Bollywood Actor Mukul Dev Passes Away At 54
The Bollywood mourned the loss of Bollywood actor Mukul Dev, renowned for his role in the 2012 hit 'Son of Sardaar'. His passing was confirmed by co-star Vindu Dara Singh, who took to Instagram to share a heartfelt video tribute, captioning it with "Rest in peace bro." This sentiment was echoed across various social media platforms, where colleagues and friends expressed their sorrow and shared their memories of the departed actor.
In response to the news, Vindu Dara Singh posted on his official X account, paying tribute to Mukul Dev's vibrant spirit and his memorable performance in 'Son of Sardaar'. He recalled the joy and laughter Mukul brought to viewers, hinting at a sequel, 'Son of Sardaar 2', which would serve as his final cinematic offering. "Rest in peace my brother #MukulDev! The time spent with you will always be cherished and #SonOfSardaar2 will be your swansong where you will spread joy and happiness to the viewers and make them fall down laughing!" Singh wrote.

Industry Mourns the Loss of Mukul Dev
Other industry figures, including 'The Family Man' actor Manoj Bajpayee, have publicly shared their grief. Bajpayee's tweet conveyed the depth of his loss, describing Mukul as a "brother in spirit" and an artist of unmatched passion and warmth. "It's impossible to put into words what I'm feeling. Mukul was a brother in spirit, an artist whose warmth and passion were unmatched. Gone too soon, too young. Praying for strength and healing for his family and everyone grieving this loss. Miss you meri jaan...until we meet again, Om Shanti," he wrote, illustrating the personal connection many felt with Mukul.
Deepshikha Nagpal, another co-star, also expressed her disbelief and sadness on Instagram, sharing a picture of her with Mukul and accompanying it with a poignant message. The absence of an official statement from the family or details regarding the cause of Mukul's death adds an air of mystery to the sad news.
Mukul Dev, who embarked on his Bollywood journey with 'Dastak' in 1996, quickly made a mark with his talent. In this film, his portrayal of a villain drew critical acclaim, showcasing his versatility as an actor. Directed by Mahesh Bhatt and written by Vikram Bhatt, 'Dastak' starred Sushmita Sen alongside Dev, Manoj Bajpayee, Tiku Talsania, Vishwajeet Pradhan, and Sharad S Kapoor, making a significant impact in the romantic drama genre.
