‘Big Size’: Anshu Ambani Responds To Trinadha Rao Nakkina’s Apology Over Body Shaming Comments

Tollywood director Trinadha Rao Nakkina, who sparked controversy with remarks about actress Anshu Ambani's body, has issued an apology to the actor in a self-recorded video. In the video, Nakkina clarified that his comments about Ambani were not meant with any ill intentions.

The Telugu filmmaker stated, "The comments I made at the teaser launch event of *Mazaka* were not intentional. I only said them to make people laugh. However, since many women were hurt by my words, I unconditionally apologize for those remarks."

At the teaser launch event of the movie *Mazaka*, which stars Anshu Ambani, Nakkina made a comment about the actor's physical appearance, which was widely criticized as "body shaming." He had said, "When she came as a heroine in a movie, I couldn't believe it. Is she still like that? She is thin now. I only asked her to eat some food and gain weight because it's not enough for Telugu audiences. Everything should be in big sizes. It's okay. She has improved a bit and will improve more by next time."

How did Anshu Ambani react?

In response to Nakkina's apology, Anshu Ambani expressed her support for the director and urged her fans to move past the controversy and focus on supporting her upcoming film.

Referring to him as the "loveliest man on the planet," Ambani clarified that the filmmaker's comments had been misconstrued.

"I believe his remarks were taken out of context. He has welcomed me into his family. During the 60 days I worked on this film, I experienced nothing but respect, love, and best wishes. I hope we can all move forward, as I'm truly excited about the movie," she shared.

She remarked, "I believe we should all watch the film for the right reasons. Collaborating with Trinadha sir has been a true pleasure. I couldn't have wished for a better director to assist me in my return to the Telugu film industry. I am genuinely grateful for his guidance throughout this experience. I hold nothing but love and appreciation for him and the entire team."
