Avinash Tiwary Shuts Down Pakistani Designer Rao Ali Khan For Body-Shaming Him

Avinash Tiwary responds to Pakistani writer Rao Ali Khan's weight criticism, explaining his intentional weight gain for his roles. Tiwary emphasises the commitment of actors to their craft and the importance of understanding their choices.

Avinash Tiwary has responded to the comments made by Pakistani writer and stylist Rao Ali Khan, who criticised his weight on social media. Khan commented on Avinash's appearance in the web series "Khakhee: The Bihar Chapter" and "Bombay Meri Jaan," questioning why he had belly fat in both shows. Khan added that he was pleased to see a fitter version of Avinash but advised him to lose weight.

Avinash responded sharply to Khan's remarks, pointing out that his weight gain was intentional for his role. He stated, "Sir, you are a journalist… if you had done any research you would know it was for the part… I suggest get beyond the idea of just vanity for cinema. Thank you." This reply highlighted the importance of understanding an actor's dedication to their craft.

Transformation for Bombay Meri Jaan

In October 2023, Avinash shared insights into his physical transformation for "Bombay Meri Jaan" on Instagram. He explained that he chose to gain weight and grow his hair to ensure authenticity in his portrayal. He aimed to avoid appearing desirable, focusing instead on accurately representing his character.

Recently, Avinash completed filming for "Ginny Weds Sunny 2," marking his first solo commercial film since "Laila Majnu." Discussing this project, Avinash expressed a desire to move beyond being labelled as an OTT actor. He noted that the pandemic led him to explore theatrical roles more actively.

Breaking Free from OTT Image

The actor revealed that he had been working on several films last year that didn't materialise. This experience prompted him to take charge of his career trajectory, aiming to establish himself across different platforms. Avinash emphasised the need for versatility and not being confined to one medium.

Avinash Tiwary's journey reflects an actor's commitment to their roles and the challenges they face in balancing public perception with professional choices. His response underscores the importance of recognising an artist's dedication beyond mere appearances.
