AR Rahman's Kids Respond To Maestro Taking Year-Long Hiatus From Music: 'Please Stop Spreading...'
AR Rahman and his wife, Saira Banu, have confirmed their separation after 29 years of marriage.
The couple, who have three children-son A.R. Ameen and daughters Khatija and Raheema Rahman-shared the news last month through their legal representatives.

Reaction to Rumours of a Career Break
Following the announcement of their separation, rumours emerged claiming that Rahman would be taking a year-long break from his career. However, his children dismissed these claims.
Daughter Khatija Rahman addressed the speculation on a now-deleted post on X, stating, "Please stop spreading such useless rumours." Similarly, son A.R. Ameen took to Instagram Stories to label the reports as "Fake News. This is false."
About the Separation
The couple cited "significant emotional strain in their relationship" as the reason for their decision to part ways. They were married in 1995.
A joint statement released by their lawyer mentioned, "After many years of marriage, Saira and her husband, A.R. Rahman, have made the difficult decision to separate... Despite their deep love for each other, the couple has found that the tensions and difficulties have created an insurmountable gap between them." They also requested privacy during this time.
Legal Notice
Shortly after the separation became public, Rahman issued a legal notice addressing defamatory content circulating on social media about an alleged affair with his bassist, Mohini Dey.
