Amaran 1st Day Box Office Collection: Siva's Film Gets Solid Opening In Tamil Nadu, Bengaluru

Sivakarthikeyan's latest release, Amaran, has hit the domestic box office with a bang, quickly becoming the third biggest opener in Kollywood for 2024. Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, the biographical war-action drama saw impressive occupancy rates, especially in Tamil Nadu, where the response has been nothing short of phenomenal.

On its first day, Amaran reported an overall Tamil occupancy rate of 77.94%, with peak viewership during the evening and night shows reaching up to 84.01%.

The movie registered its best performance in Chennai where it had 91.00% occupancy rate from 746 shows. Next comes Bengaluru where it had 54.50% from 421 shows. It is followed by Coimbatore (89.75% from 187 shows), Madurai (88.25% from 116 shows), Trivandrum (57.75% from 82 shows), Salem (84.75% from 67 shows) and Kochi (59.75% from 76 shows).

Amaran has become the highest-grossing opening for Sivakarthikeyan to date as the movie has estimated to have earned over Rs 15 crore in Tamil Nadu alone on first day. This would place it as the third biggest Tamil opening of 2024, surpassing Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 (Rs 13 crore) and just behind Thalapathy Vijay's The GOAT (Rs 29.50 crore) and Rajinikanth's Vettaiyan (Rs 20.50 crore).

Amaran Box Office - Other Languages
The Telugu states mirrored this enthusiasm, contributing to Amaran's success with an overall occupancy rate of 65.16%. The film had a particularly strong afternoon performance, attracting moviegoers to theaters across the region and cementing Sivakarthikeyan's growing popularity beyond the Tamil-speaking audience.

The Kannada version of Amaran experienced moderate traction with an occupancy rate of 35.19%, while the Hindi version lagged, showing limited response with a first-day occupancy of just under 12%. The Malayalam release, which was more limited in its showings, recorded an average of 25.00% occupancy, mostly in afternoon screenings.

The early estimation coming from trade indicate that the movie has made a net collection around Rs 22 crore on its first day.

With positive reviews highlighting the performances of Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi and a long holiday weekend ahead, Amaran is expected to sustain its momentum. Critics and fans alike have praised the film's emotional depth and captivating storyline, with fans in Tamil Nadu especially turning out in droves.
