Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan Divorce Rumours: Aaradhya Moves High Court Over Baseless Content
Done with online trolling, gossiping, and speculations over her parents Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan's divorce, Aaradhya Bachchan has approached the Delhi High Court to tackle misleading online content about her. The court responded by issuing a notice regarding her plea for a summary judgment to stop the spread of false information about the 13-year-old. According to the reports, Legal notices have been sent to several publishing houses that reported about Aishwarya Rai Abhishek Bachchn's relationship without any concrete proof. A hearing in the case has been scheduled for March 17, 2025.
In April 2023, the Delhi High Court had already directed Google to remove videos falsely claiming Aaradhya was critically ill or deceased. Justice C Hari Shankar condemned such content, asserting that every child deserves dignity and respect. He emphasized that spreading false information about a minor's health is "completely unacceptable in law."

Legal Actions Against Misleading Content
The court instructed Google to provide details of those who uploaded the misleading content and to promptly remove any future false videos. It also urged the central government to block such material and reminded Google of its obligation to adhere to legal rules. Summons were issued to YouTube channels like "Bollywood Time," "Bolly Pakora," "Bolly Samosa," and "Bollywood Shine" as a prima facie case for interim relief was established.
The plaintiffs claimed there were "absolutely false" YouTube videos about Aaradhya's health and private life that tarnished the Bachchan family name. They argued that the name itself is "protectable as a trademark" and represents "the highest of virtues." The videos violated Aaradhya's privacy, aiming solely to create shock value, gain overnight popularity, and profit.
Protecting Privacy and Dignity
The court's decision highlights the importance of protecting minors from harmful online content. It underscores the need for platforms like Google to act swiftly against misinformation. The case serves as a reminder of the legal responsibilities these platforms have in preventing the spread of false information
