Mark Your Calendar: Rajinikanth's 'Vettaiyan' To Arrive After Kamal Haasan's 'Indian 2'

Lyca Productions has announced the release plans of its two biggies - Kamal Haasan's long-delayed 'Indian 2' and Rajinikanth's Vettaiyan'.

On Saturday, the producers unveiled a fresh poster featuring Haasan from the movie. The promotional material showcases Kamal Haasan in a white shirt and veshti, exuding a subtly ominous presence. The caption accompanying the post exclaimed, "Gear up for the comeback of Senapathy! INDIAN-2 is all set to storm in cinemas this JUNE. Mark your calendar for the epic saga! (sic)," read the full caption of the post.

'Indian 2' is a sequel to director Shankar and Kamal Haasan's blockbuste flick. However, the production of this much-anticipated film encountered numerous obstacles along the way. From the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic to the tragic crane accident that resulted in the loss of four lives, the mega-budget movie faced significant delays.

Directed by Shankar, 'Indian 2' is a vigilante action film that sees Kamal Haasan returning to portray the character of Senapathy, a crusader against corruption. The movie boasts an ensemble cast featuring SJ Suryah, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Nedumudi Venu, and Kalidas Jayaram in prominent roles.

On the other hand, 'Vettaiyan' is written and directed by TJ Gnanavel. Apart from Rajinikanth, an ensemble cast includes Amitabh Bachchan and Fahadh Faasil.

Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Kishore, Ritika Singh and others are part of the cast.

The movie will now release in October, as announced by the production house today. It is expected to hit the screens for Diwali.
