Aashish Solanki Calls Reaction to Ranveer Allahbadia-Samay Raina India's Got Latent Controversy ‘Bizarre’
Comicstaan 3 winner Aashish Solanki has weighed in on the controversy surrounding Ranveer Allahbadia's remarks on Samay Raina's show, India's Got Latent.
What Led to the India's Got Latent Controversy?
The issue erupted after Ranveer Allahbadia appeared as a guest on India's Got Latent and posed a highly controversial question to a contestant:
"Would you rather watch your parents... or join in once and stop it forever?"
Following the episode's release on YouTube, complaints and FIRs were filed against Ranveer, Samay, and other influencers present, including Apoorva Mukhija and Ashish Chanchlani, in Maharashtra and Assam.

Aashish Solanki's Take on the Issue
Aashish shared a video by podcaster Vinamre Kasanaa on his Instagram stories, calling it "insightful." He then expressed his own views on the situation, stating,
"You can disagree with crass/cringe humor and the distasteful things said on the show, and you have every right to be disgusted, socially boycott, or unsubscribe from such content. But what the state is doing in all this is bizarre."
Legal Trouble and Supreme Court's Response
On February 20, the Maharashtra Cyber Department confirmed that a second summons would be issued to Samay Raina after he failed to appear for questioning on February 18. Samay, who is currently in the United States, requested to provide his statement via video conferencing due to prior commitments preventing his return before March 17, but his request was denied.
On February 18, the Supreme Court of India issued a strong condemnation of Ranveer Allahbadia's remarks. Justices Surya Kant and N Kotiswar Singh labeled the comments as "dirty and perverted," emphasizing that such behavior must be unequivocally condemned.
The Fallout of the Controversy
While Ranveer Allahbadia has since apologized and Samay Raina has removed all India's Got Latent content from YouTube, the backlash has extended beyond social media criticism. The duo, along with other influencers involved, are now facing legal complaints and FIRs.
In response to the growing controversy, Samay took to social media after deleting all India's Got Latent videos, stating:
"Everything that has been happening has been too much for me to handle. I have removed all India's Got Latent videos from my channel. My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly."
As the legal proceedings continue, the controversy surrounding India's Got Latent has sparked widespread discussions on the boundaries of humor, freedom of expression, and legal intervention in content creation.
