70th Filmfare Awards 2025: Laapataa Ladies Sweeps Big, Alia Bhatt Wins Best Actress

The 70th Filmfare Awards 2025 turned Ahmedabad into the ultimate celebration of Bollywood, honoring the year's finest performances and cinematic achievements. The star-studded evening, hosted by Karan Johar and Maniesh Paul, saw glittering performances, iconic tributes, and memorable wins.

The night belonged to Laapataa Ladies, which swept multiple awards, including Best Film, Best Director for Kiran Rao, Best Debut Female for Nitanshi Goel, and Best Supporting Actor and Actress for Ravi Kishan and Chhaya Kadam. The film also earned accolades for its music, winning Best Music Album for Ram Sampath, Best Male and Female Playback Singer awards for Arijit Singh and Madhubanti Bagchi, and several technical awards, including Best Editing, Costume Design, and Background Score.

In acting categories, Alia Bhatt won Best Actor Female for her emotional performance in Jigra, while Abhishek Bachchan and Kartik Aaryan shared the Best Actor Male award for I Want To Talk and Chandu Champion, respectively. Critics' choice honors went to Rajkummar Rao for Srikanth and Pratibha Ranta for Laapataa Ladies.

The evening also celebrated Bollywood legends. Zeenat Aman, Nutan, Meena Kumari, Dilip Kumar, Jaya Bachchan, Sridevi, Kajol, and Shah Rukh Khan were honored with lifetime achievement and Cine Icon awards, highlighting their timeless contributions to Indian cinema. Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol recreated their classic magic with performances of Suraj Hua Maddham and Ladki Badi Anjani Hai, while fans also enjoyed nostalgic moments from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai with Karan Johar on stage.

Kriti Sanon honored Zeenat Aman with a dazzling performance, while Abhishek Bachchan paid homage to his father Amitabh Bachchan on his birthday. Shyam Benegal was recognized with the Lifetime Achievement Award, and emerging talents like Achint Thakkar received the R.D. Burman Award for promising new music talent.
