The Hema Committee, led by retired Kerala High Court judge Justice K Hema and comprising veteran actor Sharada and retired IAS officer KB Valsala Kumari, investigated these pressing concerns.

1. Sexual Demands for Career Opportunities: Women are often subjected to sexual demands as a condition for entering the cinema industry and securing roles.
2. Widespread Harassment: Sexual harassment, abuse, and assault are prevalent in various settings, including workplaces, transportation, and accommodations.
3. Punishment for Resisting: Women who refuse to comply with sexual demands face severe mistreatment.
4. Violation of Basic Rights: Women's human rights are frequently violated in cinema, with inadequate basic facilities such as toilets and changing rooms on set.
5. Inadequate Safety Measures: The report highlights significant safety and security issues for women in cinema, encompassing accommodations and transportation.
6. Illegal Bans: Individuals working in cinema face unauthorized and illegal bans.
7. Threats and Silencing: Women are silenced through threats of being banned from the industry.
8. Male Domination and Discrimination: The industry is characterized by male domination, gender bias, and widespread discrimination.
9. Indiscipline: There is a high level of indiscipline, including alcohol consumption, drug use, and disorderly conduct in the workplace.
10. Vulgar Comments: Demeaning and vulgar comments are common in the workplace and over communication channels.
