Yechury reacts to Left’s Sweet and Sour Election Results
Kerala voted the way it has been doing in many a years now during the assembly election. This year the state voted out Congress led - UDF and voted in LDF. A spirited performance by BJP led - NDA in the state could not arrest the LDF wave.
On the other hand Left and Congress alliance for West Bengal was routed badly by Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress.
General Secretary, Communist Party of India (M), Sitaram Yechury reacted to the mixed result his party got in Assembly Election 2016. Mr. Yechury is to visit Kerala tomorrow and decision will be taken as to who will be the next Chief Minister of Kerala.
Congratulations to all the winners in the five assembly elections and bypolls. May the winners fulfil all the promises made to the people.— Sitaram Yechury (@SitaramYechury) May 19, 2016
Sitaram Yechury on defeat in West Bengal:
"We accept the verdict of the people of West Bengal with all humility. Compliments to all comrades, supporters and those who have stood by us."
Mr. Yechury further tweeted that, "We will introspect on the results. It is a challenge which we shall meet with all our strength. Lal salaam".
Sitaram Yechury on win in Kerala:
"We salute the people of Kerala for reposing their faith in LDF. Compliments to all comrades, workers and supporters on a great victory."
He further said that, "As we have always promised, LDF will provide an honest, clean and development-oriented government to take Kerala to greater heights".
The Verdict is against unprecedented corruption and misrule by UDF in last 5 years," said Yechury.
"Historic victory of LDF in Kerala, had been possible because people have enthusiastically supported our positive program for development of state. These results confirm what we had said during campaign about a match-fixing between BJP and UDF," said Yechury.
Reactions of other CPI and CPI(M) leaders:
"This is a huge win for LDF in Kerala, will bring development for Kerala & take ppl towards a new direction," Prakash Karat, CPI(M).
