Assam gives a Big Lead to BJP as per the Early Trends
For Assam after three hours of counting of votes began it is clear that BJP is all set to form a government in the state which is marking party's entry to North East. Assam which had Congress government under the Chief Ministership of Tarun Gogoi is losing the bastion.
Heartiest congratulations to Assam BJP Karyakartas & leaders for the exceptional win. This win is historic by all standards. Phenomenal!

Narendra Modi's look East policy:
Narendra Modi while campaigning for 2014 election had called the North Eastern states as 'Astha Lakshmi' and now and then stressed that India can not progress till its East does not progress.
The lead in Assam is attributed to the PM's look east policy. Hard work done by Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways and Shipping, Mr. Nitin Gadkari and Minister of State with Independent Charge for Power, Coal and New & Renewable Energy in the Government of India Piyush Goyal have given the North East a new reason to celebrate by giving the states in the region world class highways and uninterrupted power to remote villages.
Narendra Modi's "Act East" policy gets whole new meaning with imminent Assam win. Congrats to @rammadhavbjp @sarbanandsonwal @himantabiswa

Positive campaigning by BJP:
BJP while campaigning in Assam deliberately stayed away from negative campaigning and did no personal attack on Tarun Gogoi. Also BJP Assam Pradesh shouldered responsibility to handle the campaign at the local level and addressed the issues that were high on priority for the people for Assam.
BJP while campaigning made sure that party was not disrespectful towards Tarun Gogoi but the party did not spare him on issues of governance and encouraging dynastic politics.
Himanta Biswa Sarma was once the confidant of Tarun Gogoi. Himanta Biswa Sarma before the election had given interview where he told about his interactions with Rahul Gandhi and the Congress Vice President's style of functioning. Mr. Sarma had told that Rahul doesn't respect other people's ability; Rahul doesn't preach what he says, meetings with Rahul are not pleasant, all this and much more.
#HimantaBiswaSarma now leading by 100000+ vote. #Assam
