Who Is Radhan Pandit, Vijay's Astrologer and Now OSD?

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay has appointed astrologer Rickey Radhan Pandit Vettrivel as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) for Political Affairs, according to an official government order issued on May 12, 2026.

The appointment was formalised through Office Proceedings No. 675 by the Public (Estt. IV) Department. The order stated that Vettrivel's appointment would take effect from the date he assumes office, while the detailed terms and conditions of his posting will be announced separately.

The move follows a recommendation from the Chief Minister's Office earlier the same day.

Rickey Radhan Pandit Vettrivel has been closely associated with Vijay over the past few years and is often seen alongside the actor-turned-politician during important political engagements and personal occasions. He had also drawn attention previously for predicting Vijay's political rise well before the latter assumed office.

The appointment comes at a time when the newly elected chief minister is expanding and restructuring his political and administrative team.

Radhan Pandit Vettrivel is a prominent Indian astrologer, numerologist, spiritual guide, and meditation mentor from Tamil Nadu with over 40 years of experience. He gained recent fame for accurately predicting actor Vijay's TVK party's victory in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, leading to his appointment as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Chief Minister Vijay.

Born in Tamil Nadu, originally named Pandit Vettrivel, he began practicing astrology, numerology, and meditation in 1983.
