Actor-turned-politician and TVK founder Vijay will address party cadres and supporters at the rally, which is being organised at Moongilpalayam Meeting Ground in Erode district.

The meeting is scheduled to take place between 11 am and 1 pm and is expected to draw a large crowd from across western Tamil Nadu. Given the scale of the event and heightened safety concerns following the Karur incident, authorities have put in place elaborate security and traffic arrangements to regulate the movement of vehicles and people.

The rally is being held at a 16-acre open ground located near the Vijayamangalam toll plaza in Perundurai taluk of Erode district. The venue lies along the National Highway and is adjacent to the Sri Vijayapuri Amman Temple at Moongilpalayam village, making it a well-recognised landmark for visitors.

Traffic Diversions and Parking Arrangements

The Erode district police have issued detailed traffic advisories to manage the expected influx of vehicles. According to official instructions, vehicles arriving from Salem via the National Highway must take alternative routes through Kunnathur Road, IRTT Bridge, Seenapuram and Ayegoundanpalayam to reach designated parking zones.

Motorists travelling from Perundurai, Chennimalai and Kangeyam have been advised to use the Perundurai New Bus Stand and Olapalayam routes. Those coming from Sathyamangalam, Gobichettipalayam and Kunnathur should approach the venue via the Seenapuram-Ayegoundanpalayam stretch.

Vehicles from Coimbatore have been directed through the Kalliyampudur service road, Vijayamangalam, Sandaipettai and Ponmudi. In case of congestion on the National Highway, heavy vehicles from the Salem side will be diverted through Kalliyampudur, Gray Nagar, Thingalur and Thudupathi.

Police have made it clear that vehicles must be parked only in authorised parking areas, warning that unauthorised parking will lead to seizure.

In view of public safety, the police have imposed strict restrictions at and around the venue. Carrying weapons, inflammable substances or bursting firecrackers has been banned. Climbing trees, electric poles, hoardings or elevated structures is strictly prohibited, as are roadshows, processions or welcome arrangements on highways and public roads.

Attendees have also been warned against travelling on vehicle rooftops or covering vehicle registration numbers with party flags. Children, pregnant women and elderly persons have been advised to avoid attending the meeting due to safety concerns. Medical teams will be stationed at the venue, and the public has been urged to seek immediate assistance in case of emergencies.

Sengottaiyan's Entry Adds Political Weight

The rally gains added political significance following the induction of senior leader K.A. Sengottaiyan into TVK. A former AIADMK minister and veteran politician, Sengottaiyan joined TVK in late November after resigning from his MLA post.

He has since been appointed Chief Coordinator of TVK's high-level executive committee and Organising Secretary for western districts, including Erode, Coimbatore, Tiruppur and the Nilgiris. Party insiders believe his entry strengthens TVK's organisational base in western Tamil Nadu ahead of future elections.

Karur Stampede and Ongoing Probe

The meeting comes against the backdrop of the September 27 Karur stampede, in which at least 41 people lost their lives and over 110 were injured during a TVK public meeting attended by Vijay. Following the incident, the Supreme Court ordered a CBI investigation and appointed a three-member monitoring committee headed by former judge Justice Ajay Rastogi to ensure an independent and impartial probe.

Thursday's rally is therefore being closely watched, both politically and administratively, as TVK seeks to balance mobilisation with heightened safety protocols.
