Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam Campaign in Coimbatore: Fan Jumps From Tree to Meet Actor, Surprising Moment

While his Saturday campaign for Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) in Coimbatore, actor Vijay encountered an unexpected situation when a fervent supporter leaped from a tree onto his car. Online videos of the dramatic event show Vijay looking genuinely shocked for a brief moment.

In a video that Sun News posted, Vijay is seen welcoming a sizable group of people who had gathered around his car. He turned around just in time to witness a fan jump down from a tree onto his car after he heard a disturbance behind him. Vijay gave the fan a scarf with TVK's party colors and promptly assisted him up after a moment of surprise. This encouraged another fan to try to get on the car, so Vijay went inside as his security guards tried to control the situation.

Online users responded strongly to the video. The action was described as "stupidity" by several users on X (previously Twitter), who also questioned whether Vijay's admirers had "brains." Some ridiculed the episode as "Paithiyam" (madness), while others conjectured that it might have been manufactured. A user even made a joke about the fan playing out a part from Vijay's well-known movie Pokiri.

Vijay last appeared in Venkat Prabhu's 2024 film The Greatest of All Time. He started his acting debut as a child in the 1984 movie Vetri and played his first major part in Naalaiya Theerpu (1992).

Jana Nayagan, which was directed by H. Vinoth and starred Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, and Pooja Hegde, is his last acting project. Vijay is preparing to run in the 2026 elections with his political party, TVK, with the goal of launching a long-term political career.
