Vegetable Price In Chennai: What's Cheaper, What's Costlier In Koyambedu Market?
Chennai's Koyambedu Wholesale Market witnessed moderate fluctuations in vegetable prices on Tuesday, driven by seasonal factors, supply changes, and shifting demand.
Among the price increases, raw mango saw a significant rise, now selling for Rs 120 per kg, up by Rs 20 from its price of Rs 100 on September 20. Drumstick also experienced a jump, with prices climbing from Rs 50 per kg to Rs 70 per kg, marking a Rs 20 hike.

Green chillies, similarly, rose by Rs 10, selling at Rs 50 per kg, compared to Rs 40 per kg last Friday.
Radish saw a Rs 10 increase, now priced at Rs 30 per kg, up from Rs 20 per kg last week.
On the other hand, some vegetables experienced a price dip. Peas dropped by Rs 20, now priced at Rs 230 per kg, down from Rs 250 per kg. Snake gourd saw the most significant reduction, with its price falling by Rs 15 to Rs 10 per kg, compared to Rs 25 per kg on September 20.
Additionally, garlic saw a modest price decrease of Rs 10, now sold at Rs 350 per kg.
These price fluctuations highlight the volatility of vegetable markets, influenced by various factors such as availability and weather patterns. Consumers are advised to monitor these changes as they plan their purchases for the coming days.
