Udhayanidhi Stalin, son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and president of Dravida Munnetra Kazhaga (DMK) MK Stalin, is all set to be the state's deputy chief minister, as per reports. Sources in DMK reported that many party leaders want Udhayanidhi Stalin to be deputy CM and take charge of election and publicity campaigns. The DMK wants to start preparations for Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections 2026 as soon as possible so that every voter in the state can be touched.

Calling Udhayanidhi's likely appointment as Deputy CM a huge move and advantage, a senior party leader told the media that DMK's young face is very popular in the state, which will surely help the party retain power.

If reports are to be believed then Udhayanidhi Stalin's appointment has been made and only the final announcement is left to be made by the Chief Minister. However, DMK organizational secretary RS Bharathi said that only the DMK president will take the final call.
