TVK First Anniversary: Prashant Kishor To Meet Thalapathy Vijay In Mahabalipuram

Weeks after meeting actor-turned-politician Vijay, Jan Suraaj Party founder and political strategist Prashant Kishor will be in Chennai to attend the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam's first anniversary.

The party has planned the event at an upscale hotel in Mahabalipuram on Wednesday (February 25).

TVK, founded on the principles of love, concern, and selfless service, has seen significant growth over the past year, according to a statement issued by Anand, a former MLA from Puducherry. He attributed the party's rising popularity to the strong support of the people, who have embraced TVK's vision and ideology.

The anniversary event is expected to witness several political leaders joining TVK in Vijay's presence. Among them is B. Kaliyammal, former women's wing leader of Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK). Vijay officially launched TVK on February 2, 2024, positioning the party as a force against corruption and divisive politics, the IANS reported citing sources.

Prashant Kishor To Work With Vijay

Prashant Kishor's involvement with TVK has been a topic of interest. He met Vijay on February 10 and 11, signaling the actor-politician's serious intent for the upcoming assembly elections. While Kishor will not serve as a consultant, he will act as a political advisor through TVK's general secretary, Aadhav Arjuna. However, the party has not yet made an official announcement over this association. TVK spokesperson Raj Mohan stated that any such announcement would come directly from the party head.

With Kishor's addition, TVK now has three political consultants working ahead of the 2025 Assembly elections. While some view Kishor's involvement as a significant boost for Vijay's political debut, others caution that multiple consultants could lead to conflicting viewpoints.

Political analyst A Mani highlighted the importance of experienced manpower for a party entering elections for the first time. He noted that Kishor's extensive experience in electoral strategy since 2014 would be a valuable asset for TVK. Kishor previously worked with the DMK during the 2021 elections before stepping away from election strategizing to establish the Jan Suraaj Party.
