Tamil Parappurai Kazhagam Scheme - Learn Tamil Internationally!

The scheme shall be implemented across the world to make Tamilians NRI learn their mother tongue easily.

MK Stalin has launched an international initiative to make NRIs learn Tamil. The CM always urged that the Tamil NRIs are connected with their roots through their native tongue, Hence, they have launched the Tamil Parappurai Kazhagam scheme. With this scheme, one can learn Tamil in 24 languages.

A total of 120 centers have been created in 24 countries for this purpose. As per the CM, there is something called Hindi Prachar Sabha to teach the Hindi language. Similarly, Tamil Parappurai Kazhagam has been created to teach the Tamil language. While inaugurating this organization, Chief Minister Stalin said, "Tamil is not just a language; It is our life," he said.

On behalf of the government, some institutions such as the International Institute of Tamil Studies, Thanjavur Tamil University, Tamil Virtual Academy, and Central Institute of Classical Tamil are already functioning. This Tamil Parappurai Kazhagam association has the uniqueness that it lacks.

Purpose of Launching Tamil Parappurai Kazhagam

Writer 'Azhi' Senthilnathan has joined himself in the works of Tamil textbooks developed by Tamil Parappurai kazhagam. We talked to him about this project in detail. "This initiative by the government is a good start," he says.

"Each of the government agencies working for the Tamil language has its own programs. The International Institute of Tamil Studies conducts studies related to Tamil and then publishes the work in the book.

The Tamil Development Directorate is doing the work of implementing government Tamil in government departments. The University Of Madras also has a Tamil Development Corporation. Thanjavur Tamil University is a common site for Tamil colleges. There is also Tamil Virtual Academy. Its important task is to implement Tamil in the field of information technology.

Even though there are so many departments, for a long time there was a need for an organization to teach Tamil to Tamils ​​living abroad. Besides, there are generations who went abroad for survival and forgot Tamil. This organisation will work to teach them Tamil.

Similarly, there are generations born abroad who do not know Tamil. There are no common textbooks for teaching Tamil to them. Also, we don't have textbooks for any non-Tamils ​​who want to learn Tamil. Tamil Virtual Academy teaches Tamil online and this shall be used under the Tamil Parappurai kazhagam to teach the language to NRIs.

There are institutes that teach world languages ​​like Alliance Francaise to learn French, Spanish Instituto Cervantes to learn Spanish, and Confucius Institute to learn Chinese. Similarly Tamil also needed a separate institution. It was to do that work that the 'Tamil Praparurai Kazhagam' is established. It teaches Tamil to other speakers with a standardized curriculum.

Here there are ten different institutes only for the Hindi language. Each of these has its own requirements. Similarly, although there are many institutes for Tamil, the main purpose of these is to teach Tamil to foreigners.

Similar to the way examinations are conducted for learning German, Hindi, and Sanskrit, regular examinations will be conducted at every level for those learning Tamil. The procedures to be followed will be common throughout the world.

Many countries in the American Union are teaching Tamil as part of their curriculum. When studying Tamil as a second language, they take the score into account during further studies.

There are hundreds of Tamil schools operating on weekends in America. There are no common textbooks for their syllabus. Pointing out this, they have been demanding for a long time. Chief Minister Stalin has started a Tamil Parappurai kazhagam to meet that need.

So far, the books were sent to overseas users through the Tamil Nadu Textbook Corporation. But those textbooks are not suited to the environment there. They needed special books. Following this, we have prepared new Tamil books in 24 languages ​​keeping Tamils ​​living abroad in mind.

In Indian languages ​​like Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu, Odia, Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Punjabi, Assamese, Urdu, Marathi, and foreign languages ​​like English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Russian, Thai, Malay, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, etc. We have created texts. This is just a start. It will increase gradually," says Azhi Senthilnathan.

He also said, "The DMK government wants to create some institutes based on language, archeology, and publishing on an international basis. Chief Minister Stalin is very involved in this matter. He has that thirst.

Tamil national political activists like me should participate in such an effort. Merely presenting grievances is not Tamil national politics. So we fully stand behind Chief Minister Stalin's initiative," he said.
