Tamil Nadu's 'Patta', 'Chitta' Land Documents: How To Apply For Land Documents, Download Village Maps Online?

In a major move towards digitization and ease of access, the Tamil Nadu State government has announced that land documents such as 'patta' and 'chitta' can now be downloaded online by the public. This initiative aims to streamline the process for landowners and improve transparency in land transactions.

In recent years, numerous land documents have been digitized, making them readily available online for public use. According to a press release issued by the Director of Land Survey and Planning, Government of Tamil Nadu, landowners can now apply for and obtain the measurements of their land boundaries through the official website: Tamil Nilam Citizen Services.

"Patta and chitta can be applied at Tamil Nilam Citizen Services," the press release stated. Also, the public can check the status of their patta applications and download copies of land documents and boundaries by visiting Tamil Nadu e-Services.

Furthermore, village maps and lists of new and old survey numbers are accessible at TN Land Survey, providing comprehensive information for landowners and stakeholders.

This development is expected to greatly benefit the public by simplifying access to essential land documents, thus enhancing efficiency and reducing the need for physical visits to government offices.
