Tamil Nadu Weather Update: Will Rains Recede In Next 24 Hours In Chennai & Other Dists?
Chennai and 23 other districts in Tamil Nadu faced torrential rains on Saturday due to Cyclone Fengal, leaving parts of the state capital inundated.
Rainfall levels in northern and southern Chennai reached 130-150 mm by 6:00 am, causing widespread waterlogging. Tragically, one person was electrocuted at a flooded ATM in Chennai.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Chennai and many other districts for Saturday.

When Will Cyclone Make Landfall?
Cyclone Fengal was initially expected to make landfall near Puducherry on Saturday, but weather blogger R. Pradeep John predicted a delay. "As long as the cyclone is at sea, it will form clouds and push them towards land. Landfall might not happen today and could be pushed to tomorrow," he shared on social media.

According to the latest weather update from the Regional Meteorological Centre, 25 districts will experience heavy rain on Sundays as well.
