Tamil Nadu Weather Update: These Districts To Get Heavy Rains
Several areas in the coastal districts of Tamil Nadu, including Chennai and its neighbouring districts, are anticipated to experience light to moderate rainfall over the next 48 hours. Whereas the western ghats districts of the state are predicted to receive heavy rains.
The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) on Wednesday issued a yellow warning for western ghats districts including the Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Theni, and Dindigul. These places are expected to get heavy rain with thunderstorms, the Regional Meteorological Centre said.

In light of the strong winds, the fishermen are cautioned against venturing into the sea. The well-marked low-pressure area over the west-central and nearby Northwest Bay of Bengal, off the coasts of north Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha, continues to exhibit an associated cyclonic circulation extending up to 7.6 km above mean sea level.
It is predicted to move slowly northwestwards across north Andhra Pradesh-south Odisha coasts.
The weather-monitoring agency said that the some areas in Chennai and suburbs are likely to experience light showers in the evening.
Earlier in the day, moderate rainfall was observed in various areas, such as Tondiarpet, Vadapalani, Teynampet, Pattinampakkam, Anna Salai, Mylapore, Pallikaranai, Madipakkam, and Nungambakkam. As a result, several interior roads experienced water stagnation, leading to difficulties for people commuting and causing a traffic gridlock in the city.
The maximum and minimum temperatures are anticipated to drop below normal, reaching around 32 degrees Celsius for the maximum and 27 degrees Celsius for the minimum.
