Tamil Nadu Weather Update: Several Districts Over 40°C; North Interior Braces For Heatwave
Nine districts in Tamil Nadu saw temperatures soar above 40°C in the last 24 hours, with Erode recording the highest temperature at 42.2°C, the Regional Meteorological Centre said in the daily bulletin.
Over the 24-hour period ending at 8.30 pm, there was minimal fluctuation in maximum temperatures across Tamil Nadu, generally remaining above normal and even notably elevated by 2-4°C in certain pockets within the interior plains. The temperature levels were generally consistent with norms across the rest of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal regions.
