Tamil Nadu Weather Update: Heavy Rain Alert for 5 Days – Check If Your District Is On The List
Heavy rains across Tamil Nadu are expected to lash in the next five days as the Regional Meteorological Centre has issued a yellow alert.
A yellow alert is triggered when expected rainfall ranges between 64.5 mm and 115.5 mm, indicating that the current bad weather conditions are likely to worsen.

Forecast Details:
Thursday: Heavy rains are forecasted for 16 districts, including the ghat areas of Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Tiruppur, Theni, Dindigul, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari, Erode, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Salem, Namakkal, Vellore, Ranipettai, Tirupattur, and Tiruvannamalai.
Friday: Rainfall is expected to affect 14 districts, including the ghat areas of Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Tiruppur, Theni, Dindigul, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari, Erode, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Salem, Namakkal, and Karur.
Saturday: 13 districts will experience heavy rains: Dindigul, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari, Erode, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Salem, Vellore, Ranipettai, Tirupattur, Tiruvannamalai, and Kallakurichi.
Sunday: Nine districts are likely to see heavy rains, including the ghat areas of Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Tiruppur, Theni, Erode, Salem, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, and Tirupattur.
Monday: The forecast predicts heavy rains in 15 districts: the ghat areas of Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Tiruppur, Theni, Dindigul, Virudhunagar, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari, Namakkal, Salem, Erode, Karur, Madurai, and Tiruchirapalli.
Chennai Forecast:
The sky is expected to be partly cloudy, with light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and lightning possible in some areas. The maximum temperature will be around 35°C, while the minimum temperature will range between 27-28°C.
Heavy Rains On Wednesday:
Meanwhile, Perundurai in Erode district recorded 12 cm of rainfall, while Karur received 11 cm.
Other areas include Pulipatti and Chittampatti in Madurai district, both of which saw 9 cm of rain. Tallakulam in Madurai district, Vellakoil in Tiruppur district, and Idayapatti in Madurai district experienced 8 cm of rainfall.
- Perundurai in Erode district received 12 cm of rain.
- Karur recorded 11 cm.
- Pulipatti, Chittampatti, and Tallakulam (all in Madurai district) saw 9 cm.
- Vellakoil in Tiruppur and Idayapatti in Madurai received 8 cm.
