Tamil Nadu Weather Update: Chennai, KTCC Region Brace For Moderate Rain

Tamil Nadu Weather: Rains Returns In Chennai, KTCC

Weather blogger R. Pradeep John shared on social media that "very good clouds" are approaching the KTCC area, indicating a promising spell of rain for Chennai. He mentioned, "Post Pongal Rain Update 2 - Most districts in Tamil Nadu are set to receive moderate rainfall from today to tomorrow, with some areas experiencing very heavy rains."

Rains have been reported across Tamil Nadu, from Chennai to Vellore, extending to the Delta and Thoothukudi regions. Chennai is expected to receive moderate rain until Sunday afternoon or evening. The Mayiladuthurai belt has recorded very heavy rainfall, with the potential for significant totals from this district, he said in a post.

Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam, and Thanjavur districts are currently experiencing rainfall, which is heavier than last week's pre-Pongal showers. Farmers are advised to take precautions during the harvesting period.

Delta

"Rains seen across Tamil Nadu from Chennai - Vellore to Delta to Thoothukudi region. Chennai will get moderate rains till Sunday noon/ evening. Very heavy rains have been reported in Mayiladuthurai belt, there is chances of very high numbers from this district. Thiruvarur, Nagai and Thajavur districts are now getting rains. These rains are heavier than last week rains before pongal. Hopefully, the farmers take care of the harvesting safely. South Tamil Nadu will join the rains soon. Watchout for Manjolai belt as usual. Bangalore too will get some rains today."

According to the RMC, isolated places over Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, Ramanathapuram and Tenkasi districts will get heavy rains.

The RMC has warned that isolated areas in Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, Ramanathapuram, and Tenkasi districts may experience heavy rainfall.
