Tamil Nadu Weather Update: 13 CM Rain In Vadakuthu; Heavy Downpour Alert For Chengalpattu, 7 Other Districts

Parts of Tamil Nadu experienced heavy rainfall on Sunday, with Vadakuthu in Cuddalore district recording the highest rainfall at 13 cm.

This was followed by 12 cm in Zone 15 Sholinganallur (Chennai), Neyveli AWS (Cuddalore), 10 cm in Hindustan University (Kancheepuram), RSCL Vallam (Villupuram), Zone 13 Adyar (Chennai), Ennore AWS (Chennai), and Zone 01 Thiruvottiyur (Chennai), the data from the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) said.

Steady rains was witnessed in the The KTCC (Kanchipuram, Thiruvallur, Chengalpattu, Chennai) region on Monday morning as well.

A weather interpreter named Tamil Nadu Weather Man noted: "Next 1 hour the steady rains will continue in Chennai and then will turn into drizzles. After a gap, century is recorded in KTCC. Steady rains continue in KTCC from midnight and there are centuries too, it was one of the best days for KTCC. As sun comes in, the clouds will weaken and turn into stratiforms. Expecting some centuries in Tamil Nadu today when rainfall recorded details are out."

Heavy Rainfall Warning for August 5:

The RMC has predicted eight districts in the state to get heavy rains along with union territory Puducherry on Monday. Likewise, six districts are predicted to get heavy downpour on Tuesday.

Heavy rain is likely at isolated places over Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Kallakurichi, Ariyalur, Perambalur, and Mayiladuthurai districts, as well as Puducherry.

For Chennai, the Regional Meteorological Centre forecasts partly cloudy skies with a chance of light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in some areas. The maximum temperature is expected to range between 32-33°C, while the minimum temperature is likely to be around 25-26°C on Monday.
