The Low-Pressure Area that was over the Northeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining Bangladesh coast became less marked as of 17:30 hrs IST on November 5, 2025. The associated Cyclonic Circulation now persists, extending between 1.5 km and 3.1 km above mean sea level.

Furthermore, a trough previously running from the Southwest Bay of Bengal to North Kerala has now shifted, running from the Central Bay of Bengal to South Kerala, passing across Tamil Nadu at an altitude of 1.5 km to 5.8 km above mean sea level.

Wednesday's Rainfall

The preceding 24 hours saw significant rainfall in parts of the state. Tirupuvanam in Sivagangai district recorded the highest rainfall on Wednesday with 12 cms. Despite the monsoonal activity, maximum temperatures remained above normal by 2°C to 4°C in many places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and the Karaikal area.
