In its daily bulletin, the IMD said, "Yesterday's Low Pressure Area over Southeast Bay of Bengal became a Well Marked Low Pressure Area at 1730 hrs IST of yesterday, the 24th October 2025 and concentrated into a Depression at 0530 hrs IST of today, the 25th October 2025 over the same region. It moved nearly westwards and lay centered at 0830 hrs IST of today over the same region, near latitude 10.8°N & longitude 88.8°E, about 440 km west-southwest of Port Blair (Andaman & Nicobar Islands), 970 km southeast of Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh), 970 km east-southeast of Chennai (Tamil Nadu), 990 km southeast of Kakinada (Andhra Pradesh) and 1040 km south-southeast of Gopalpur (Odisha)."

The system is likely to move west-northwestwards, intensifying into a Deep Depression by October 26, and into a Cyclonic Storm over the Southwest and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal by October 27 morning. It is expected to further strengthen into a Severe Cyclonic Storm by October 28 morning, and may cross the Andhra Pradesh coast between Machilipatnam and Kalingapatnam, near Kakinada, during the evening or night of October 28, with wind speeds of 90-100 kmph gusting up to 110 kmph.

Meanwhile, another depression over the Eastcentral Arabian Sea lay centered at 0830 hrs IST on Saturday near latitude 16.5°N & longitude 70.4°E, about 380 km west-northwest of Panjim (Goa) and 400 km southwest of Mumbai (Maharashtra). The system is expected to move northwestward across the sea over the next 24 hours.

On Friday, Oothu in Tirunelveli district recorded the highest rainfall of 14 cm, followed by Nalumukku (13 cm), Kakkachi (11 cm), Balamore and Manjolai (9 cm each), Thirparappu (8 cm), and Idayapatti, Madurai city, Tallakulam (Madurai district) and Suralacode (Kanyakumari district) with 7 cm each.
