Tamil Nadu Weather: 6 Districts Boils At Over 38°C; Karur Touches 39.5°C
Seven stricts in Tamil Nadu recorded over 38°C on Monday, with Karur registering the highest at 39.5°C. It is followed by Tiruchirappalli AP (39.1), Madurai AP (39.1), Thanjavur (39.0), Erode (38.8), Dharmapuri (38.8), and Vellore (38.6)
"Maximum temperatures were above normal by 2°C at isolated places over Tamilnadu and were generally near normal over rest of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal area.
They were in the range 36-40°C Interior Tamilnadu; 35-36°C over Coastal Tamilnadu, Puducherry & Karaikal area and 20-28°C over hilly areas," the Regional Meteorological Centre said in its daily bulletin on Monday.

The maximum temperatures are likely to be above normal by 2-3°C at isolated pockets for the next days over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal area.
Chennai Weather
As far as the Chennai weather is concerned, the maximum temperature is expected to be around 35-36 °C and the minimum temperature is expected to be around 28°C, the weather agency noted.
Hot afternoons to continue over North Tamil Nadu with coastal places like Chennai also suffering from high humidity, making afternoons and evenings very uncomfortable. Dry weather to aggravate the heat over the next few days in Peninsular India, weather blogger Chennai Rains said in a post on X.
Meanwhile, Nanguneri (dist Tirunelveli) received 3 cms rain in on Monday followed by 2 cms in Azhiyar (dist Coimbatore), Kovilpatti AWS (dist Thoothukudi), Nagercoil (dist Kanyakumari), Suralacode (dist Kanyakumari), Vembakottai (dist Virudhunagar), and Pechiparai AWS (dist Kanyakumari).

Meanwhile, popular weather blogger R Pradeep John of Tamil Nadu Weatherman has written about the rains in April. In a post, he said: "The rare April storm (100 mm recorded in some places in Chennai) after 10 years is now moving into ECR belt - Siruseri, Kelambakam, Mahabalipuram, Ponmar, Tiruporur, Thirukalakundram will all get intense rains."
However, there are no heavy rains in sight as per the Regional Meteorological Centre.
