Tamil Nadu Train Accident: Here Is The List Of Trains Diverted Following The Incident In Kavarapettai
An express train collided with a stationary goods train at Kavarapettai, near Chennai in Tamil Nadu's Tiruvallur district, resulting in injuries to a few passengers.
The incident involved the Bagmati Express, which had just passed Ponneri station around 8:27 p.m. When the train crew noticed a heavy jerk upon entering a loop line, the train collided with the stationary goods train. As a result, 12-13 coaches of the Bagmati Express derailed, but no casualties have been reported.

Railway officials dispatched a medical relief van and a rescue team from Chennai Central to aid those injured. Though there were initial reports of a fire near one of the coaches, this has not been confirmed by railway authorities. Emergency response teams, including police and ambulances, have rushed to the scene, and senior officials, including Tiruvallur District Collector T Prabhushankar and Divisional Railway Manager of Chennai Southern Railway, are en route to the accident site.
