Tamil Nadu Lok Sabha Poll Prediction: Will Annamalai-Led BJP Really Get More Seats Than AIADMK?

Several pre-poll survey reports had recently claimed that the BJP under the leadership of K Annamalai will perform better than the AIADMK in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

Although those pollsters had unanimously declared that the DMK-Congress alliance would win maximum number of seats, pre-poll surveys had declared that the BJP, which has been struggling to gain a foothold in the Tamil Nadu politics, would get more vote share than the AIADMK.

However, as per the India TV-CNX opinion poll, the AIADMK will win four seats while the BJP is predicted to win three seats and its allies are expected to win 2 seats.

The pre-poll survey report has predicted that the DMK will win 18 seats and its ally Congress will bag 8 seats from Tamil Nadu.

In recent times, several surveys including Times Now-ETG and Federal-Puthiyathalaimurai have indicated that the saffron party in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls will leave an impact in Tamil Nadu politics. K Annamalai's 'En Mann En Makkal' yatra has helped the party to connect with the people.

However, a few opinion polls had claimed that the BJP might get more vote share than the AIADMK but it would not translate more seats.

Tamil Nadu will vote in a single phase on April 19.

According to the India TV-CNX Opinion Poll, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi could secure 399 out of the 543 Lok Sabha seats.

The BJP alone is forecasted to win 342 seats. On the opposition front, the INDIA bloc led by the Congress (excluding Trinamool Congress) might bag 94 seats. The remaining 50 seats could go to other parties including Trinamool Congress, YSRCP, BJD, and independent candidates, as per the projections of the opinion poll.

The BJP is predicted to do exceptionally well in North Indian states like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan along with PM Modi's home state Gujarat.
