Holidays List For 2026: Full List of Holidays For Tamil Nadu Govt Employees

The Tamil Nadu government employees will get a total of 24 holidays in 2026. In 2025, there were 23 listed holidays.

As per the order issued by Chief Secretary N Muruganandam, the government employees, including those working under public sector undertakings, corporations, and boards functioning under its control.

The list comprises of major national festivals, religious observances, and regional celebrations, including Pongal, Uzhavar Thirunal, Tamil New Year and Diwali. It has to be noted that the DMK government the bank employees, including commercial and cooperative banks in Tamil Nadu will get a holiday on April 1 on the occasion of the annual closing of accounts.
